Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer is feeling good these days, and that’s great news not only for him but for the team also.
Zimmer said that the retina in his right eye that has required eight surgeries is “perfect.” He met with his eye doctor on Wednesday for another checkup and got a good bill of health.
The coach says his doctor told him he “would be absolutely shocked” if Zimmer experienced a recurrence of the problems in his right eye.
Zimmer was ordered to take a two-week break from the team earlier this month to help his eye recover.
For now, he will take a vacation before getting set to be back with the team in a few weeks for the official start of training camp for the Vikings.
