2019 NFL Week One Preview – Three Keys to a Vikings Win Over the Falcons

The Vikings will start their 2019 season at home on Sunday as they take on the Atlanta Falcons, a team in a similar position as they are in, missing the playoffs last year with a mark of 7-9.

There are plenty of storylines for this game, and here’s a couple quick things to look for in this week one matchup between two NFC teams.

1. Get Dalvin Going Early

The Vikings last season lost Dalvin Cook before he got started, but are excited to see what the running back can do now that he’s 100 percent.

Having a better run game in 2019 will mean that Vikings can go more to play action with Kirk Cousins, and also should spread the field a bit as well.

Cook is ready to go and has something to prove, and should be fun toNFL Week One Preview – Thre watch.

2. The Vikings O-Line

It will be an interesting test to see what the Vikings Offensive line looks like in this week one battle, not only helping out Cook in trying to run but also in keeping Cousins on his feet.

The team has worked to try and improve that line, and they have to start the year strong making sure to play well which will give the Vikings a solid chance at getting the win.

3. Hold Jones and Ridley in Check

The Vikings defense in 2018 gave up the third-fewest points to receivers lined up in the slot, but that’s not going to stop the Falcons trying to get Calvin Ridley off in this week one game.

Julio Jones remains one of the best pass catchers in the game, and this combo is going to really test the Vikings in week one.

Hard to think they won’t get their catches, but you have to make sure not to let them get too far off in this game.
