Links Of The Week

Lets take our weekly look around the web: The Vikings finally lost a coach and the details can be read here. Visanthe Shiancoe sounds like he is eager to face the Saints again this season. Our good friend PJD has confused the readers over at the Daily Norseman when he alluded to one of my […]

Update On E.J.

I was so disheartened when I saw my favorite current Vikings, E.J. Henderson, go down with a gruesome leg injury against the Cardinals that I was speechless at the time. Like many Viking fans, I am hopeful that Henderson will recover fully and quickly.  That is why I will endeavor to keep you all as […]

Griffin May Be On First 2010 Injury Report

E.J. Henderson’s leg isn’t the only injury we will be monitoring throughout the offseason. Early indications are that Cedric Griffin suffered a torn ACL and possibly a torn MCL while covering a kickoff late in Sunday’s loss. These injuries can have very lengthy rehab periods, and Griffin’s availability for 2010 is already a question mark.

Some Good News

I think I can safely say that all Vikings fans are hoping for a speedy recovery for E.J. Henderson. Well, there is little word on how long the injury could sideline Henderson, but at the very least his spirits are up and he’s still trying to contribute to his team.  This speaks a lot to […]

Defending A Title From The Pack

The Vikings have held the title of “Best Run Defense” for three consecutive years. As Vikings Update points out, that title is in danger this year and the team who is most likely to finish on top of the category is none other than the Green Bay Packers. The Vikings are currently ranked 4th in […]

Henderson Suspended

Vikings backup linebacker Erin Henderson was dealt a four game suspension by the NFL today for violating their policies on enhancement substances. No further details on the nature of his transgression are available.  Henderson would be available to rejoin his team starting the day after their first playoff game… if he’s still a member of […]

A Quarter Of Viking Roster Listed As Injured

Until this week, the Vikings have had a pretty fortunate year when it comes to injuries. However, today the Vikings listed a quarter of their roster on the injury report.  A quarter is a lot, especially considering the majority of our injured players are starters.  Let’s take a look at them all: DID NOT PARTICPATE: […]

The Injury Bug Has Officially Arrived

The Vikings were already missing Anthony Herrera (concussion) and Antoine Winfield (foot) on Sunday.  The hope (as was the hope last week) is that both of these guys will be ready to go on Sunday against the Bengals. However, injury worries now run a lot deeper than they did before Sunday night’s game against the […]

Short Term & Long Term Impact Of E.J.’s Injury

It is too early to know much about the long-term prospect of E.J. Henderson returning or not returning to play football for the Vikings.  Not all the news is horrible, like this story (thanks for the link Fran) in which a doctor says Henderson could easily be back by training camp. Now, I am always […]

Update On E.J.

On Sunday, starting linebacker and defensive captain E.J. Henderson suffered a gruesome fracture to his femur. Brad Childress told the media on Monday that Henderson spent the night in a Phoenix hospital’s intensive care unit after having “successful” surgery to his leg.  Henderson is expected to return to Minnesota some time this week. “He’s a […]
