2009 Season
The Vikings safety play was regarded as atrocious for much of the 2009 season. While it ended up being Adrian Peterson, Brett Favre, Bernard Berrian, and Percy Harvin that “gave away” the Championship game, there is [...]
The Star Tribune just released a few interesting nuggets as to Sunday’s game.
First, Jamarca Sanford will be used in the same way he was used against the Giants. He will split snaps with current starter Tyrell Johnson. This is somewhat of an unusual move for a playoff team, as typically defensive players don’t just split [...]
Vikings seventh round flier of 2009 is backup safety Jamarca Sanford. The word “backup” may be removed from his title fairly soon if he keeps saying all the right things off the field and producing a defensive intensity on the field.
Sanford played about 20 snaps with the starting defense in the Vikings regular season finale [...]
Safety Tyrell Johnson started on Sunday against the Giants, and like most Vikings defenders he played pretty well. Johnson only played for the first quarter, however, as he was replaced by rookie seventh round pick Jamarca Sanford.
Sanford has been a dark horse to crack the starting roster by replacing Johnson. Johnson has struggled in coverage [...]
On Sunday, all of the Vikings faithful were keeping one eye on Jasper Brinkley at all times to see how he would do in the starting lineup.
Even with one eye on E.J. Henderson’s replacement, it was hard not to notice seventh round pick Jamarca Sanford flying around and making plays as he replaced second year [...]
Let’s get this out of the way… grabbing crow from freezer… Putting into microwave safe dish… de-thawing in the microwave… Salt… Pepper… Gulp! This is the best tasting crow ever!

While more detailed analysis will come later, here are some initial thoughts:
Favre [...]
The Vikings Monday inked the first of their five 2009 draft picks, coming to terms with seventh-rounder safety Jamarca Sanford. Terms for the 231st overall pick weren’t disclosed. Sanford started 44 games for Ole Miss during his college career.
I recently read a scouting report at scout.com on Vikings seventh round pick Jamarca Sandord, the safety out of Mississippi. The lead-in boasts that it is the most complete scouting report that you will find on Sanford anywhere. And I have to agree.
This thing is ridiculously comprehensive, and is more than you ever thought you’d [...]
The 2009 NFL Draft, which is basically Christmas for football fans, ended a few hours ago and the Vikings definetly made a splash. Here we’re going to give intitial reactions to each of the Vikings five new players:
Percy Harvin, wide receiver, Florida, pick 22, first round
THE GOOD: Harvin is always dangerous with the ball in [...]
The Vikings had two seventh round picks going into Sunday, but used one to trade up and snag Jasper Brinkley. With their final pick, the Vikings decided to take a safety. Jamarca Sanford out of Ole Miss projects as a free safety who will help fill in depth, which is arguably an area of liability on [...]
