Taylor Will Play When Ready, Injury Notes

Vikings coach Brad Childress says Chester Taylor will get his share of carries when he’s healthy enough to return to the starting lineup. That might be this weekend at Detroit. Taylor is getting treatment for a bruised abdominal muscle suffered in the first quarter of Sunday’s win over Atlanta. The injury led to rookie Adrian Peterson getting 19 carries. Childress says he wants to alternate Taylor and Peterson, noting that it’s always good to have two top running backs.

It’s not known if fullbacks Tony Richardson and Naufau Tahi will be ready to play in the  game on Sunday. Richardson suffered a bruised forearm in the season-opening win over Atlanta, while Tahi is bothered by a sore ankle. Richardson is coming back from a broken ankle that kept him on the sidelines much of last season. He did not carry the ball against the Falcons. Tahi had two carries for five yards in the win.
