Quote Of The Week

While Brad Childress said some really goofy stuff earlier this week about “over-clarification” (like he knows the first thing about being clear), I have chosen a more serious quote from Childress since it is Ladanian Tomlinson week around here.

I think that a lot of times when you only have one person involved the agents don’t like that game and a lot of time they take them and — what shall I say? — create the atmosphere that there’s want somewhere else.

This is — what shall I say? — a ballsy quote from coach.  He is insinuating that there is no real market out there for the Vikings only prime target of free agency thus far.  One has to wonder if L.T. and his agent could take offense to the statement, and if Childress is being truthful then one has to wonder why the Vikings are the only team really chasing this guy.

I think Childress has a point, however, about how good Tom Condon is at playing this exact game.  Think it is a coincidence that the three other teams mentioned in the L.T. race (Jets, Eagles, Saints) will all host the Vikings in the 2010 regular season?

I don’t.

    I read that comment too and thought, uh-oh, he’s probably pissed off LT now.

    I sure hope somebody has been keeping tract of Childo’s comments over the years.
    I have never heard ANY NFL coach say stranger things. I mean JUST yesterday he comes out with (In regard to LT);

    “He’s got a good squirt and feels good in the hole” (Paraphrased)
    And how about “Touching and tasting” LT?

    LT probably couldn’t get out of town fast enough.

    To me, the guy is just about unbearable.
    I can’t imagine what the players think about him.

    Hopefully he’ll see we were one play/call/mistake from going to the super bowl and come on board. He’s def not the same player as he was when he was mvp, but the injuries that slowed him last year aren’t serious. I still feel he’d be an upgrade from chester and offer another aspect for defenses to scheme against. Hopefully we get a chance to counter offer anything the Jets throw at him…SKOL
