Excuse me for getting a little bit excited, but the re-signing of Jimmy Kennedy is a huge plus for the Vikings. Not only is Kennedy a more then capable backup, but he can fill in nicely as an occasional starter if necessary.
For the most part, Kennedy has been an NFL journeyman. But when he first came out of Penn. State he was considered a “can’t miss” dominant NFL Defensive Tackle. However, his work ethic and stamina just didn’t live up to the hype.
As a backup, Kennedy can spell Williams and Williams without a drop off in production. In a reduced role, Kennedy has shown flashes of brilliance and dominance.
I was stoked myself when I read it, Also being we don’t know about what will happen to the Williams boys, He will fill part of the gap…
Adam, Lets get Fargas in there for a visit!!!
Sorry Coach B, Never even looked at the name this time…
Spelling was good, Just had the wrong guy…
Just caught it this AM, great news indeed. He had good production as a backup last year, and I think he still has what it takes to be a dominant defensive lineman….especially along the Vikes front.
What’s more, we won’t have to worry about drafting a DT
