The Visits Begin

Prior to the draft, teams will bring in a number of prospects for interviews and private workouts.

These visits serve two purposes.  The first is obvious, as they get to know some prospects better and further scout their abilities.  The second is to provide smoke screens as to whom they plan to target come draft day.

The Vikings have reportedly begun this process by bringing in Virginia cornerback Chris Cook, according to Access Vikings.

Cook has been rising up draft boards recently, who is known for his physical play and ability to support the run.  At 6′ 2″ and 212 lbs., Cook would provide the Vikings secondary with some more size and strength.

The biggest question mark concerning Cook is his lack of speed and ability to play on an island.

I have added a “known visits” section to the 2010 Offseason Tracker and will continue to update it as more visits set up by the Vikings are reported.
