Updated Top Thirty

Now that it is clear that the Vikings are going to continue to be relatively quiet in free agency, I have turned my attention back towards the draft.

Those efforts include updating my “Top 30” list.

The idea is that since the Vikings have the 30th pick in the draft, a list of the thirty best players would be a good general guide as to who the Vikings may have as options when their pick rolls around.  The players are listed in an order of value, based on my judgement alone, and can be viewed by clicking the “2010 Offseason Tracker” tab at the top of this screen.

Feel free to scrutinize it and let me know your opinions.

AK – Not that the list is wrong but never and Freds means EVER would Fred draft a TE with a number one pick. NEVER!! Never great value for a TE as a #1. Especially one from France.

Pretty good list. It seems like “insider” types aren’t as impressed with Clausen as many mock makers are, but what’s the point in debating the specific order?

Some others, I don’t like Campbell and would have him ranked out of the top 30. He’s a freak, but the Vikings have already had a sum-less-than-the-parts LT for years now. I think Trent Williams has surpassed him.

And I think I’d replace Nate Allen. I like Allen, I just don’t want to draft him in Round 1. My hope is Antoine Winfield slides over to safety.
