Schedule Released

The NFL released their entire 2010 schedule on Tuesday.  Many people will say that the Vikings 2010 hopes hinge on Brett Favre’s pending decision, but each game will be sure to have some drama regardless of what Favre decides.

Lets take a look.

Sept. 9 — at Saints, 7:30 p.m., NBC

NOTE:  NFC Championship rematch to open the season in Prime Time.  Doesn’t get much sweeter than that.

Sept. 19 — vs. Dolphins, noon, CBS

NOTE:  All eyes will be on Brandon Marshall and how fits into Miami’s offense.  This home opener will put the Vikings secondary to the test after 10 days of rest.

Sept. 26 — vs. Lions, noon, FOX

NOTE:  The first divisional game for the Vikings should tell us a thing or two about the Lions offseason moves and whether or not they have actually improved.

NOTE:  The early bye is always a bummer, but it does buy some extra time for Cedric Griffin and E.J. Henderson to continue rehab.

Oct. 11 — at Jets, 7:30 p.m., ESPN

NOTE:  The Jets have set expectations very high, but this game will let Ladanian Tomlinson know if he made the right choice or not.

Oct. 17 — vs. Cowboys, 3:15 p.m. FOX

NOTE:  Keith Brooking thought the Vikings were a classless playoff team in 2009 and said he would have this game circled on his calendar.

Oct. 24 — at Packers, 7:20 p.m., NBC

NOTE:  It’s the Packers.  Favre or no Favre, this game is a prime time mainstay in recent years.

Oct. 31 — at Patriots, 3:15 p.m. FOX

NOTE:  The Patriots are always tough, but they will have to draft well in order to stop their recent woes.

Nov. 7 — vs. Cardinals, noon, FOX

NOTE:  The Cardinals have seemingly imploded this offseason, but perhaps Leinart is better than we think.

Nov. 14 — at Bears, noon, FOX

NOTE:  This game has potential for cold weather, and the Vikings will try to stop Mike Martz with Chester Taylor at his disposal.

Nov. 21 — vs. Packers, noon, FOX

NOTE:  The Pack coming to the Dome is always a good time.

Nov. 28 – at Redskins, noon, FOX

NOTE:  The Redskins have added Donovan McNabb and a few others, which should make this a very interesting matchup.

Dec. 5 — vs. Bills, noon, CBS

NOTE:  This game will be billed as an “easy win” for the Vikes, but we’ll know by this point if the Bills are a team to worry about.

Dec. 12 — vs. Giants, noon, FOX

NOTE:  The Gaints are in need of help on defense, but this matchup is becoming a rivalry despite being in different divisions.

Dec. 20 — vs. Bears, 7:30 p.m., ESPN

NOTE:  This has the potential to be a game which decides the NFC North Champs.

Dec. 26 — at Eagles, noon, FOX

NOTE:  This is really the only cold weather game to worry about for the Vikes.  The Eagles are a team which many don’t know what to expect of this year.

Jan. 2 — at Lions, noon, Fox

NOTE:  Wouldn’t it be scary if our playoff hopes came down to our ability to beat the Lions?

What a horrible schedule. It does not even include Hank Baskett.

  2. GB Nordic says:

It looks like that we will have to work for everything that we get. If the Vikes get on a roll this year watch out. I have an early prediction(I know it is meaningless) 11-5.

  3. Vikings UK says:

Gotta agree with Nordic on 11-5 at this point even though there is none. It is intimidating but at the same time we have the quality to win all/most of them, it all depends on who turns up and who steps up.
Really looking forward to the Cowboys game, and the P*ckers of course. Skins should be an interesting one too, but the Jets could spell trouble.

  4. Jerkpepper says:

They might go 11-5 if they can somehow undo the worst trade in the history of sports and get Hank Baskett back. If not they will probably go 2-14 or maybe even not win a game at all. That trade is even more horrible than Bones but not as terrible as HOPPY.

  5. HOPPY says:

You are the one who is horrible me boy.

  6. Jerkpepper says:

Why don’t you go back to your fulltime job as a Homer Simpson lookalike. You will never reach the candy mountain unless you get a new face. Horrible!!!

  7. ssnova44 says:

That is a brutal, brutal schedule.
