Sports Gab Network Mock Draft

All of the editors of each Gab Site got together and did a little mock draft.  Each editor picked for their respective teams.

What was interesting is that this mock turned out very different from the “consensus” mocks around the web, and some top talent fell deep into round one.

Two of the major recipients of this talent falling were the Vikings and the Packers.

Here are the results:

1.  Rams Gab:  Sam Bradford, QB

2.  Lions Gab:  Russell Okung, OT

3.  Bucs Gab:  Nadamukong Suh, DT

4.  Redskins Gab:  Trent Williams, OT

5.  Chiefs Gab:  Eric Berry, S

6.  Seahawks Gab: Gerald McCoy, DT

7.  Browns Gab:  Earl Thomas, S

8.  Raiders Gab:  Bruce Campbell, OT

9.  Bills Gab:  Jimmy Clausen, QB

10.  Jaguars Gab:  Derrick Morgan, DE

11.  Broncos Gab:  Dez Bryant, WR

12.  Dolphins Gab:  Jerry Hughes, DE/OLB

13.  Niners Gab:  Joe Haden, CB

14.  Seahawks Gab:  C.J. Spiller, RB

15.  Giants Gab:  Rolando McClain, ILB

16.  Titans Gab:  Jason Pierre-Paul, DE

17.  Niners Gab:  Taylor Mays, SS

18.  Steelers Gab:  Mike Iupati, G

19.  Falcons Gab:  Brandon Graham, DE

20.  Texans Gab:  Kyle Wilson, CB

21.  Bengals Gab:  Jermaine Gresham, TE

22.  Patriots Gab:  Sergio Kindle, DE/OLB

23.  Packers Gab:  Bryan Bulaga, OT

24.  Eagles Gab:  Kareem Jackson, CB

25.  Ravens Gab:  Carlos Dunlap, DE

26.  Cardinals Gab:  Sean Weatherspoon, OLB

27.  Cowboys Gab:  Anothony Davis, OT

28.  Chargers Gab:  Ryan Matthews, RB

29.  Jets Gab:  Jared Odrick, DT/DE

30.  Vikings Gab:  Dan Williams, NT

31.  Colts Gab:  Charles Brown, OT

32.  Saints Gab:  Daryl Washington, ILB

I’m not sure if my pick really requires all that much explanation.  Dan Williams is a top 15 talent that fell all the way to the Vikings and was the best player available.  The need for a defensive tackle may not be that huge, but the need for a big run stopping nose tackle to eventually replace Pat Williams is a big deal.

Besides, who wouldn’t like to see a second generation of the Williams Wall?

It was interesting to see some of the top talents fall further than expected (Bulaga, Davis, Williams, Odrick, Brown) but every year this does happen.  What will be interesting is to see who falls this year… and how far.

Well, I hope my pick represented the sentiments of Vikings Gab readers fairly accurately.

I would second that pick if he would be there.
