Vikes Sign Shuler

For a second there, I thought maybe the Vikings had simply forgotten to sign their rookies to contracts.

But, alas, they remembered.

The latest Viking rookie to sign is seventh round tight end Mickey Shuler.

The deal is four years long and worth about $1.85 million, with a $60,000 signing bonus, which makes my prediction four posts down almost worth bragging about… if the process of slotting wasn’t so darn easy, that is.

The Vikes still have five rookies that need contracts before training camp begins on Friday.  If all five are signed, that will put the roster at 81 guys, meaning at least one will be cut or put on the PUP list.

Shuler generated a slight buzz in rookie camp, as he apparently surprised some people with his ability to catch everything.

Why is it so hard to sign rookies? All they ever say is how honored they are to be in the NFL. Just sign the damn thing and prove you belong in the league.

I don’t think the rooks are to blame here, Johnny. The Vikes are taking their time on these rookie signings for some reason, just like they did last year.

Well you outlined the parameters a couple posts down so it shouldnt be too hard to get done. I dont like it when they drag their asses on simple things like this.
