Camp Breakdown: Day Five (Morning)

[Editor’s Note:  While I am not going to include every source link, please note that all the sources consist of the sites (and Twitter accounts of their writers) that are featured in our blogroll on the right hand side of this page.]

Well, despite the Favre drama, there are still 80 other guys worth talking about on this football team and I intend to do just that, as today was training camp’s first day in full pads.

The Passers

Both Rosenfels and Webb struggled in the “move the ball” drill.  Both were sacked on one occasion, and Rosenfels one-hopped consecutive passes.

The Runners

In the goalline drill, the defense did a nice job stuffing the run as usual, but it should be noted that the only score came from rookie running back Toby Gerhart.

The Blockers

After missing a couple days due to an injured right calf, center John Sullivan returned to the field.

The Linebackers

In the goalline drill, Kenny Onatolu batted down a pass that was intended for Shiancoe.

Albert Young had a pass deflect off his hands which was picked off by E.J. Henderson.

Jasper Brinkley obliterated Toby Gerhart on a toss to the right side, drawing some man-crush praise out of Childress.

The Secondary

Benny Sapp sat out of his fourth consecutive practice.

Chris Cook ended practice with yet another interception.  This one was against Joe Webb, but it had bounced of Marquis Hamilton’s hands.

The Special Teams

Rhys Lloyd was money on all seven of his field goal attempts this morning.  The seven kicks ranged from 25 to 50 yarders.
