Housh A Viking… Or Is He?

FOX6 out of Milwaukee is reporting via Twitter that Javon Walker was cut by the Vikings to make room for veteran possession receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh.

The Viking shave denied the report, and nothing is yet official.

However, following today’s cuts to make a 53 man roster, the Viking sonly have four active receivers:  Bernard Berrian, Greg Camarillo, Percy Harvin, and Greg Lewis.  It seems like they are targeting somebody.

While he want replace the play the Vikings got from Rice in 2009 Housh would go a long way in helping the other WR’s replace Rice play ~ That would left the Vikings use the 3 weeks after Rice is set to come off the pup list in week 6 ~
giving Rice 9 games if he needed it to recover and get back on the filed ~

But not at the price the Hawks were set to pay him this season ~

Seems like T.J. would be a logical choice. As Vikadan said, Not at the price he was suppose to get…

Adam, Do you have a favotite WR in mind???

    • bigjohnny84 says:

Charlie I believe the Seahawks will have to eat most of his 7 million dollar salary.

    • Adam Warwas says:

If reports are true that his 2010 salary will be mostly covered by the Seahawks and he can be had for the league minimum, then I say it’s a no brainer. 4 WRs on the roster is not good, and Housh is the best available from a pass catching stand point… not really a special teams standpoint.

      • bigjohnny84 says:

Adam, is this guy just a slot and possession reciever or is he still a deep threat? We already have 2 slot recievers in Harvin and Camarillo.

      • c.carterhof says:

A no brainer Adam. But Chilly is our Coach, sooo…

Couldnt Harvin be a deep threat?

This is a huge early Christmas gift if he’s signed.
A HUGE upgrade over Payne/Walker/Lewis…..will thrive w/ Favre.

  4. fozz44 says:

that’s a given johnny. Great insurance for Sidney….will be a first down machine for the Vikes.
Quit hating on the receivers….and get your offensive linemen fixed.

  5. fozz44 says:

I think you’d be a better option at this point johnny, even with a few whiskeys in you

  6. B. Grant says:

Yup we’re out looking for paint and trim boards (receivers) but meanwhile the barn is burning down (offensive line). And since flames are coming out of every window, its a little too late to look for a water pail.

I’m sorry gang. I know that’s stupid, but gosh darn it, we do not have even an adequate offensive line, and we should have seen that long before now (last year?).

Sure we could use Housh, got no problem with that, but meanwhile…

    • Purple Charlie says:

It is pretty sad when everyone can see it and the Vikings Organization can’t…

Putting the cart before the horse…

  7. phil says:

the vikes should sign tony richardson and get rid of that waste of space (tahi)
