On this holiday weekend there is so little going on from a Vikings news standpoint that I bothering to repeat three nuggets of information from Sid Hartman that would normally not be worth posting.
- Vikings fans love to dream about Larry Fitzgerald returning to his home state to play as a member of the purple and gold. This subject has come up more than once recently, as Fitzgerald only has one year left on his contract with Arizona, but it sounds like Fitzgerald plans to remain a Cardinal into the future.
- Prior to April’s Draft, I was only able to find evidence of two teams that showed enough interest in Gophers’ quarterback Adam Weber to put him through some private workouts. Those two teams were the Vikings and the Patriots. As an undrafted free agent, Weber can sign with any team once the lockout is lifted, and Hartman expects the Bills to “make a strong bid” to be the team that lands him.
- The lockout has affected a lot of things, but apparently season ticket sales for the Vikings aren’t going as poorly as you might expect. According to Hartman, the Vikings have sold over 1,000 new season tickets for 2011.
