Vikings claim QB Sage Rosenfels off waivers

One day after waiving quarterback Donovan McNabb, Minnesota Vikings claimed quarterback Sage Rosenfels off waivers from the Miami Dolphins, Alex Marvez of reports.

Rosenfels had been on the Dolphins’ “Non-Football Illness” report before he was surprisingly granted his release on Thursday. Rosenfels had been waived earlier from the New York Giants’ “Non-Football Illness” list after he was hospitalized with strep throat.

Was Alex Marvez the reporter Sage was talking to in 2009 when he revealed Favre’s thoughts that Brad Childress was ‘clueless’? Pretty embarrassing for Childress and team at the time to have a clubhouse informer.

Is there an issue related to Sage’s propensity to reveal clubhouse workings to friendly Fox reporters? If a non-essential player violates team confidences don’t you get rid of them forever?

Can you come up with an example where a player – traded after being caught talking to reporters off the record – then ends up being reaquired?

Maybe Spielman felt he owed Sage something?

umm, maybe they figure he did the vikes a favor by torpedoing childo?

this game, the one that under it’s certain circumstances, changed networks for the first time ever, we might win, sumpthin like, 8-6

Yep as soon as I saw that He was on the waiver wire I had a feeling this was gonna happen.

I agree we needed a #3 Q.B.buttttttttt…..after watching Culpepper in the UFL last year he’s still got a strong arm.I know it’s the UFL but just sayin.

all the “rebuilding” talk in the world won’t change the future for the good as long as spielman and the triangle remain…..Zygi, get a GM with full power and get out of the way…let the GM build a team and you build a stadium and complex…..

  5. krugjr says:

someone already said it and I agree….Ponder, Webb and the new rider of the Purple Sage will be a very good QB roster next year, especially with the #3 being active…I just hope spielman isn’t the one building our roster and handling the draft next year…..

Draft Matt Barkley or Landry Jones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      You nailed it, Krug.

Quite optimistic about 2012 although it may take still another year.
      a) Ponder exceeded expectations, (and to think I whined about missing on Gabbert).
      b) Musgrave’s has an interesting offense
      c) Secondary sucks but rest of D needs glue and symmetry (or Singletary?)
      d) Lost some baggage but key talent figures remain

Frazier needs young talent infusion. 2011 wasn’t the year to be competitive in NFC North anyway. Let’s get the right stadium deal done so we can look ahead. Potentially a playoff team in 2012

You need to share the drugs you are on Lost. Vikes need way to much help to make the playoffs next year. I’m think 4 or 5 wins even with alot of help, but they won’t get any help. Vikes never do anything good in free agency. And will probably mess up the draft. And why do you think Ponder has done so great? Sports analists are giving Ponder from a high of C- to F. I’d much rather have Barkley!!!!!

    Sage is worthless.

  7. krugjr says:

even with all the injuries, I gotta feelin’ we’re gonna drop a few spots in the draft order tomorrow…..low scoring, defensive game with Ponder and Longwell coming up big……and then again, it could just be indigestion…
