Two NFL sources said Vikings Pro Bowl end Jared Allen had the torn labrum in his left shoulder repaired, Tom Pelissero of 1500 ESPN reports. He is expected to be ready for training camp, sources said.
It wasn’t immediately clear when Allen would be fully cleared. He usually doesn’t participate in any voluntary workouts anyway, rejoining his teammates for the mandatory minicamp in June.
Allen, 30, played the entire season with the injury, which he said was diagnosed to have it repaired before camp. He told reporters earlier this month it would be the first surgery of his nine-year NFL career. He delayed the procedure to play in Sunday’s Pro Bowl.
